So it's been a lonely week in Durham for me. Both Mark and Elizabeth are in TN right now with Grammy & Pop. Thankfully, they should be coming home tomorrow. We also have begun the packing...now begins the long haul. I really don't like moving. But we are going to have lots of help, so I can't complain. In fact, big thank yous to Grammy and Ma for both taking time to come up in the next few weeks to help.
We've also had some good luck lately. I signed up for a giveaway on facebook and won! Elizabeth is getting a free Kidorable umbrella, boots, and raincoat. We got the lucky kitty pattern. Check it out below. Guess Facebook is paying off. ;)

Well, I'll write more later, not much more to report right now. TTFN!

Short work week
Well, it's official, today is my friday. I wish every week was a two day work week! Although short, I was able to get a ton done at the lab. Three FSCV (fast-scan cyclic voltammetry for those who don't speak the lingo) experiments, and I trained two undergraduates the beginning of the data analysis. There was some electrode making and soldering headstage pins thrown in there, but it wouldn't be a day at the lab without those things. Got to love the smell of liquid metal mixed with the aroma of rats. Hee Hee.
Mark and Elizabeth have had two daughter daddy days, so that I could work. Tomorrow I take over and give Mark a full day at work. We also travel to TN tomorrow for a Dr's appointment on Friday. I am so happy to be seeing someone else, I haven't been especially happy with our current healthcare situation. Of course we will also being seeing Grammy and Pop. Hurray! Plus a load of our boxes are also going down.
I'm afraid next week will be a little sad for me. Mark and Elizabeth will be staying in TN, while I come back to NC. I'm going to try and fill up most of my time with lots of packing. After that, we are hoping to take another trip to the beach before we leave (trying to convince Grammy and Pop to go with us). Grammy will also be up to help watch Elizabeth. Then Mark's mom will head up to also help with Elizabeth, while the final packing and moving takes place. Only 3 weeks remain!! Although I am heading right back the following week after we move. Part of my "new" job is to help out in the lab on busy weeks (if available) and that is a really busy week. But after that I'll officially be a work from home mommy! So exciting.
Well, now that I have officially bored you with the mundane details of our life, I'll sign off for now. As Tigger would say "TTFN- ta ta for now".

Our last beach trip
Mark and I figured that we won't ever live this close to the beach again, so several weeks ago we took a short day trip down to Kure beach. Elizabeth had forgot about the ocean and was nervous in the beginning, but warmed up to the waves by the end of our beach time. We then headed over to the aquarium where Elizabeth was excited to see all the fishes and sharks! We all had a blast and hope to go one more time before we leave. But here's a few pictures of our time there, until we get to go back!
Daddy giving baby a beach buggy ride!
I had better pics, but none that showed off that red curly hair better. It's very fine, but there are curls there!
Carrying water to splash on Daddy!
Not sure I want to pet that horseshoe crab...
Coral Reef
Jelly!
Hope you all enjoyed! Keep checking back for more updates and pictures. Love to you all!
Happy Fourth!
This year we had an quiet fourth of July, but after the weeks Mark and I have had working that was wonderful! We actually went to a movie, which hasn't happened in close to a year. We had some wonderful grilling courtesy of Mark, and Elizabeth played outside almost to whole weekend. Big thank you's to Grammy and Pop for the wonderful John Deere wagon. With her new wagon, she has picked up a useful chore...picking up sticks from the yard! I wonder how long that will last?? Ha, ha. We also brought down some more boxes to prepare for the move. It's looking like we'll need one big storage facility, or Grammy and Pop need to build us a building. Just joking. We're all looking forward to the big move, and hopefully we won't drive Grammy & Pop too crazy before we find a house. Guess that's it for now. Hope you all had a wonderful Fourth too!
Just getting started!
Hi all! I know many of you have facebook and can view pics via Shutterfly, however, I thought it might be nice to have something that integrates everything. Therefore, a new blog has been born. I'm going to try to keep it updated, unlike some of my other failed attempts (uhm..baby website). Particularly since Mark and I are moving into a new phase of our lives, we thought it would be a great time to share with everyone. With the move coming up, and both of our jobs taking different courses it should be interesting to see what the future holds. Plus, who can get enough of those cute pics of baby Elizabeth! Tootles for now!
