Thoughtful Thursdays

Sounds crazy, but we added another item to our busy schedule- Bible Study.

All three of us, yes the girls too, go to BSF every Wednesday.  What's BSF?  Bible Study Fellowship.

It's a fabulous organization that I participated in as a child too.  Every week you are given a set of notes and questions.  Using only the bible as your source, we work our way through one book of the bible in a year.

I LOVE it!  Way back in both NC and KY, I participated in BSF.

(That's right BSF is nationwide and international (it's free too!!). You can find your own class online at BSF.)

However, I had to quit both due to health reasons.  Now that I'm feeling better and in fighting form, I decided to get back, plus I really wanted the girls to go (and yes, even the infants do a lesson).

This year is the book of ACTS.  I'm already learning a lot, and Elizabeth has memorized two bible verses in her class.  (SO PROUD of her!!)

Anyway, since I'm getting so much out of it, I thought I would share a few nuggets of wisdom I'm getting from BSF each week.  Not the whole thing, mind you, just something that struck me as a wonderful thought or truth.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and hopefully I will represent the organization well.  Here goes:

This particular thought, really made me think about how I spend my time and how little I really talk with God.

Prayer is the most lasting and rewarding investment of all time.

There is no other way to be more Christlike than to be active in prayer.

Therefore, be active in prayer.  Spend your time talking with God and waiting on Him.  Only through prayer and the Holy Spirit can we achieve what He wants us to do.

Because ordinary people can do extraordinary things...and more than anything I want to be more like Christ.

I want to be extraordinary in His eyes,

for my life to irresistible to others,

just like His life is to me.

Sounds like a really great organization! Glad you're able to participate again, and even more great that you can use it as a time to do something as a family! :)

We are teaching our 21 month old about prayer. It's priceless.

Stopping by via Amber's place. Don't visit my blog. You are way too sweet to visit my classlessness. =)
